PLEASE READ: One pre-owned, rare, authentic Puritan Pottery. 1953 Howdy Doody Cookie Jar, SOLD AS-IS. Please look over the images for this jar. This cookie jar has a hairline surface crack on the rear, right side. The crack doesn't seem to carry through to the inside. Howdy debuted on the NBC's television children's program 'Puppet Playhouse' on December 27, 1947 until September 24, 1960. Howdy Doody himself was a freckle-faced boy marionette with 48 freckles, one for each state of the union at the time of his creation! The Puritan Pottery Howdy Doody jar was offered for sale in 1953 for the price of $3.99 and is considered to be one of the classics in the cookie jar world today! This cookie jar has a hairline surface crack on the rear, right side. The crack doesn't seem to carry through to the inside. All Vintage items are sold as-is, no returns.
