A unique piece. This copper and brass handmade gypsy wagon jewelry chest has a pretty patina to the brass and copper exterior. Made sometime around the 1940s the squares feature, lions and elephants framed with hand hammered texture design. The piece shows minor signs of wear for its age. The mirror inside is somewhat cloudy and a little wear to the edges of the of the top tray (not bad). One edge inside the bottom of the chest the velvet is gaped a bit and someone painted the gap to minimize it. See photos with pin. A very striking jewelry chest that has lots of handmade interesting details. Could be used to store jewelry, remote controls, keys in entry etc. Made in India.
