Japanese Imperial Army Non-Commissioned Officer's Cape (Original)

This is a Japanese Imperial Army non-commissioned officer's short cape, an unissued item in near-mint condition with no tears, fraying, or moth damage.

*This item was stored in a bag after cleaning, so it still retains the smell of volatile oil.
The odor has diminished over time, and is only noticeable when held close to the nose. However, please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about the smell.

The short cape for non-commissioned officers is shorter than the general enlisted men's cape, also known as the gendarmerie cape.
It is made of thick, dark khaki wool, similar to the enlisted men's overcoat, and has three wooden buttons for the front closure. Like the enlisted men's overcoat, it has no lining.

The length is designed to cover the uniform and allow for smooth arm movement, with a generous cut.
