A redesigned cotton herringbone shirt. The tightly woven herringbone fabric was developed during World War II as a gas defense suit.
This shirt is an original from Buzz Rickson's, and compared to herringbone fabric typically used for shirts, it uses about twice the amount of yarn, making it durable enough for hard use and increasing in texture the more it is worn.
Just by touching the fabric, you can feel its sturdy, high-density herringbone weave.
It feels stiff and rough when new, but that's because it uses such tough fabric. Herringbone is a unique weave named after the bones of a herring fish.
This is the strongest work shirt, able to withstand hard work.
We've finished this tough work shirt so that it can be worn as an outer layer, with a sweatshirt or hoodie underneath.
